Product Information Driven by the global fiber access evolution trend, Huawei next-generation OLT platform is developed in collaboration with our customers. The MA5800 series of OLT is the latest and the most advanced OLT platform in the industry. It is designed to support continuing growth in bandwidth demand, wire-line and wireless access convergence, and migration toward SDN. The industrys first 40 Gbit/s-capacity Next-Generation Optical Line Terminal (NG-OLT). Huaweis SmartAX MA5800 multiple-service access module employs a distributed architecture to support ultra-broadband, Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) services, and smart capabilities, such as SDN-based virtualization. MA5800s programmable Network Processor (NP) chip set accelerates the roll-out of new services, catering to the demand for differentiated services, including partitioning of wholesale and retail service providers. Control and integrated boards: MPSC*2 (with 4 10G ports) DC power:PISA*1 or AC power:PISB*1 Service boards 16 ports 1G GPON board:GPHF and GPSF 16 ports 1G EPON board:EPHF 8 ports 10G GPON board:XGLD and XGHD 8 ports 10G EPON board:XELD and XEHD Product Features The MA5800 is the industrys first smart aggregation OLT with a distributed architecture. It is positioned as the next-generation OLT for NG-PON. The product is designed to help carriers build networks with larger bandwidths, higher speeds, and smarter connectivity to deliver better service experience. Providing GPON, 10G GPON (including XG-PON and XGS-PON), P2PGE, and 10GE access, the MA5800 supports deployment on FTTH,FTTD, FTTB, FTTC, and distributed converged cable access platform(D-CCAP) networks. This makes it applicable to home access, enterprise access, mobile backhaul, and Wi-Fi hotspot backhaul scenarios to aggregate all services on one fiber network. The MA5800 functions as a large-capacity aggregation device on the network to aggregate the traffic from ONTs, MDUs, and campus switches, thereby simplifying the network architecture and reducing the OPEX. FTTH Network Application Supports the fiber to the home (FTTH) network application. It can be connected to the ONT in the users house through the PON port or provide the P2P optical access service through the FE or GE port. FTTB Network Application Supports the fiber to the building (FTTB) network application, and is connected to the ONU (MDU or ONT) that is deployed in the corridor through the PON port. FTTC Network Application Supports the fiber to the curb (FTTC) network application, connected to the ONU that is deployed at the curb through the PON port, or connected to the DSLAM that is deployed at the curb through the GE optical port. Centric Management for GE Remote Extended Subracks Networking Leased Line Service (Enterprise Access) Leased Line Service (Base Station Access) Copper Access Network Application Supports multiple copper access modes such as ADSL2+, VDSL2, and SHDSL. Voice Service Network Application Supports the voice service network application. The MA5800 can function as an AG (Access Gateway) in the softswitch network to provide the voice service and transmit the voice service to the IMS network. In addition, the MA5800X2 supports the TDM SHDSL access, which is applicable to reconstruction of the traditional voice network. Product Appearance The MA5800 supports four types of subracks. The only difference between these subracks relies on the service slot quantity (they have the same functions and network positions). MA5800-X2 supports 2 service slots with backplane H901BPLB and H901BPLD (V100R018C00 and later versions).
