Version Description The functional version of CSHR boards is SLJ1. Application OptiX RTN 910A uses CSHR boards as system control, switching, and timing boards. CSHR boards implement system control, service switching at the TDM/packet plane, and the clock function, and provide service ports and IF ports. Therefore, OptiX RTN 910A configured with CSHR boards can support basic applications without other boards. Figure 1 Application scenario of CSHR boards NOTE: OptiX RTN 910A can use service boards and ISV3 or ISM6 boards to provide extended functions. In this case, the service boards process the related services before sending them to the CSHR. After being groomed by the CSHR, the services are sent to the IF boards for processing and then to the ODU. Functions and Features CSHR boards provide 10 Gbit/s packet switching capacity, full time-division cross-connection, system control and communication, and clock processing functions. In addition, CSHR boards provide GE, E1, IF, auxiliary, and management ports. NOTE: The CSHR board is non-pluggable. Table 1 Functions and features of the CSHR Function and Feature Description Basic functions Switching capacity Supports 10 Gbit/s packet switching function. Cross-connect capacity Supports full time-division cross-connections (equivalent to 8x8 VC-4s) at the VC-12 or VC-3 or VC-4 level. System control and communication Manages, monitors, and controls the running status of the IDU, and works as a communication service unit between the NMS and boards to help the NMS to control and manage the NE. Clock Clock source Provides the system clock and frame headers for service signals and overhead signals for the other boards when tracing an appropriate clock source. The traced clock source can be any of the following: E1 tributary clock Radio link clock Synchronous Ethernet clock Channelized STM-1 line clock E1 clock of the E1 channel mapped in Channelized STM-1 2048 kbit/s or 2048 kHz external clock IEEE 1588v2 clock IEEE 1588 ACR clock Clock protection Supports the following clock protection schemes: Protection based on clock source priorities Protection by running the SSM protocol Protection by running the extended SSM protocol Time synchronization Supports IEEE 1588v2 time synchronization.
